Ember Rising

Our Story

Founder’s Origin

We didn’t set out looking for a friendship. We found one anyway.

We met on a road trip to the Saint Joseph Oratory in Montreal. Somewhere between the long stretches of highway, countless cups of coffee and tea, and conversations that wandered from fantasy novels to theology, something unexpected happened. Every time one of us shared a story, the other found himself saying, “That happened to me too.”

The details weren’t always the same, but the themes were. Though our lives had followed parallel journeys, we found ourselves asking the same questions, carrying many of the same joys and disappointments, and learning the lessons God seemed determined to teach us in His own time. Before long, it felt less like meeting someone new and more like looking into a mirror.

That trip began a friendship rooted in three things: our shared faith as two Maronite Catholics, our love of storytelling, and our appreciation for coffee and tea.

We’ve come to believe that stories are one of God’s greatest gifts.

Long before podcasts, books, or social media, stories were how people passed on wisdom, preserved their history, and made sense of the world. Our Lord Himself often taught through parables. They have a way of reaching the heart that facts alone rarely can.

Maybe that’s why some of life’s most meaningful moments happen around a table. With a warm mug in hand and nowhere else to be, stories are shared, friendships are strengthened, and ordinary moments become lasting memories.

That belief has shaped everything we do. It’s why every bag of coffee and every tin of tea carries a story on the back. We hope that as you enjoy what’s inside, you’ll take a moment to enjoy what’s written outside, and perhaps be reminded of a story of your own.

This is our invitation.

Whether you share our Catholic faith, simply enjoy a well-told story, or are looking for a great cup of coffee or tea, we’re glad you’re here. The best stories rarely end where we expect. Ours certainly didn’t. Perhaps yours is only beginning.

Our Logo

Every mark tells a story. Hover over each part of the crest.

The "Lamp"

The "Lamp" recalls Saint Charbel’s miraculous lamp.
Lit with water instead of oil, it is a quiet tribute to this miracle worker and to God’s grace.

The "E"

The "E" represents the Ember, a life giving fire of the Holy Spirit. Though small and often hidden, an ember carries the power to ignite what has grown cold.

The "Sword"

The "Sword" is the word of God, the Sword of the Spirit. It cuts through darkness, steadies the heart, and prepares us for the ultimate spiritual battle.

The "R"

The "R" represents Rising. As embers release their warmth, their smoke ascends. “Let my prayer be counted as incense before You” (Psalm 141:2).

Our Story

Our Commitment

At Ember Rising, we believe a business should bear fruit beyond the cup.

We are committed to setting aside a portion of our profits to support those in need. Our primary focus is aiding persecuted Christians, particularly those in the Middle East, where many continue to endure hardship for the sake of the Gospel. Yet charity also calls us to respond when suffering appears unexpectedly. Whether through natural disasters, humanitarian crises, or other urgent needs, we desire to remain attentive to where help is needed most.

Our mission is guided by the three theological virtues:

Faith is found in the stories we tell, rooted in the lives of the saints and the truth of the Gospel.

Hope is found in every cup we share; a quiet invitation to prayer, reflection, and the reminder that even the smallest ember can be rekindled.

Charity is found in what we give back, striving to ensure that the blessings entrusted to us become a blessing for others.

Coffee and tea may be what brings us together, but our hope is that every purchase becomes part of something greater: a small act of faith, a source of hope, and an opportunity for charity.
